Position Summary:

We are seeking a strategic and driven Sales Manager to lead and expand business development efforts in the U.S., with a base in Chicago. This leadership role is pivotal in driving growth, developing trade lanes, especially between the U.S. and South Asia, and building strong relationships with clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Design and implement sales strategies to boost revenue and expand U.S. market share.
  • Identify and secure new direct business, focusing on a healthy and sustainable sales pipeline.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets.
  • Onboard and manage regional agent networks to drive specific trade lane performance.

Client & Partner Relationship Management

  • Strengthen and grow existing client relationships to ensure high customer retention.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with agents to support a robust international network.
  • Act as the main point of contact for key clients, ensuring top-tier service delivery.

Trade Lane Development

  • Lead the development of multiple trade lanes, with a strong emphasis on U.S.-South Asia trade.
  • Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and competitor activities to inform business strategy.
  • Customize service offerings to meet evolving customer needs.

Team Leadership & Organizational Growth

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team across major U.S. hubs.
  • Develop incentive structures and provide continuous coaching to enhance team performance.
  • Ensure hiring and training align with the company's long-term growth strategy.

Strategic Alignment & Execution

  • Work closely with executive leadership to align sales objectives with broader business goals.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth service execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver consistent reporting on KPIs, pipeline health, and sales outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or business development within international freight forwarding.
  • Deep understanding of the South Asia-U.S. trade lane and the global freight landscape.
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder relationship skills, both with clients and logistics agents.
  • Ability to operate independently while developing and executing long-term strategies.
  • Knowledge of international freight rates, trade compliance, and logistics solutions.
