Job Title: Transportation Safety Manager

Location: Decatur, GA

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000

Job Summary:

Are you passionate about safety and training in the transportation and food logistics industry? We're looking for a dedicated individual to lead initiatives that enhance driver skills, ensure compliance, and promote safety across the board.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide and mentor drivers, particularly new hires, by providing comprehensive training on transportation protocols, fleet safety, and food safety practices.
• Conduct in-depth ride-along evaluations to identify improvement areas, crafting customized training programs based on findings.
• Deliver ongoing instruction for drivers, including updates on fleet safety regulations, emerging technology, and defensive driving techniques.
• Facilitate post-incident defensive driving sessions and support the creation of fleet safety compliance strategies.
• Maintain detailed records of training attendance, evaluations, and coaching interactions in the designated systems.
• Host daily driver briefings to discuss safety protocols, vehicle inspections, and performance targets.
• Employ engaging teaching methods, such as hands-on activities, group discussions, and scenario-based exercises, to ensure knowledge retention.
• Oversee safety-related tasks, including accident reviews and driver skill assessments.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools with exceptional communication abilities.
• Capable of guiding and mentoring individuals or teams with a professional and supportive approach.
• Experience implementing and managing training initiatives.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including occasional overnight trips.
• Familiarity with XATA or similar electronic logging systems and a solid understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.

Requirements:

• Active Class-A CDL (Interstate) and current Medical Certification.
• Expertise in operating articulated vehicles with trailers up to 53 feet.
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
